He will introduce the concept of E-engineering, a combination of strategy and process redesign.
Donald Hughes, CFO of Lands' End, will discuss how Lands' End has capitalized on the Internet channel by investing in tools that aid the customer and allow for a profitable channel. He will also discuss how E-commerce channel investments such as best-of-breed search engines, virtual models to aid customer fit, and technology allowing the customer to customize clothing have had a return on investment for Lands' End.
Stephen Brobst, CTO of NCR, will explore how the game has changed regarding the implications for business deployment in the Networked Economy. Learn about the latest thinking on the four strategic pillars for creating sustainable competitive advantage: 1) organization change capability, 2) intellectual capital, 3) customer relationship management, and 4) strategic brand management.
Murray Demo, CFO of Adobe Systems, will speak about how today's dynamic business environment demands that corporate management operate on a real-time basis with real-time financial information. In addition, the Internet is enabling the centralization of financial processes and reporting which improves a company's ability to manage the global business on a real-time basis. This session will explore how Adobe Systems delivers real-time, multi-dimensional reporting via the Web.
Thomas Koulopoulos, CEO of Delphi, a leading industry consultant, lecturer at the Boston College Graduate School of Management, and author of six books, is known among Global 2000 firms for his beyond-the-edge view of the turbulence created by the collision of technology and business. In this dynamic presentation, he will argue that the CFO now has to perform a tough balancing act as the basic issues of control, audit, and systems integration meet head on in a volatile economic climate. He will explain why the CFO must be a critical player in business technology strategy as a company seeks to build the systems it needs to meet shareholder demands in the years ahead. This session will help the CFO clarify the proper steps for integrating the multitude of systems, applications, and data sources that provide the information needed to make sound financial decisions. Learn how technologies such as portals, Web services, single point of access, and syndicated applications will change the CFO's role and responsibilities.
